August 29, 2025, Mississauga, ON – There are 234 Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) players taking part in Ontario Hockey League (OHL) training camps this week, the OJHL announced today.
The Jr. A OJHL has a long and storied history of developing players for OHL teams.
“The OJHL is extremely proud that 234 OJHL players attending OHL camps this year, highlighting the OJHL’s critical role as a development pathway for the Junior A athlete,” said Marty Savoy, OJHL Commissioner. “The OJHL is committed to the improvement of our players as they advance their hockey careers, ensuring their growth and success.”
Forty percent of all OJHL players are at OHL camps this week. All 24 teams in the OJHL have players skating at OHL camps. The Stouffville Spirit and Burlington Cougars lead the league with 20 players each attending camps.

During the 2024-25 season, 39 Affiliate Players from the OJHL played a total of 152 games in the OHL. Twenty-seven OJHL players had commitments to OHL teams last season.
The OJHL regular season opens Sept. 4. Opening day for the OHL is Sept. 18.
