Mississauga, ON, April 2, 2026— The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) is pleased to announce that Sean Meyers of the Pickering Panthers has been named the 2025-26 OJHL General Manager of the Year.
Under Meyers’ direction, the Panthers established themselves as one of the top teams in the league this season, making a push to the current Eastern Conference Championships, a testament to the organizational structure and culture he has helped put in place in Pickering.
The Panthers went 35-16-2-3 in the regular season and are currently on an impressive 10-2 streak through the playoffs. Pickering swept the first round of the playoffs against the Wellington Dukes and earned their spot in the conference finals this past Tuesday, beating Stouffville 4-2 in the series.
“Sean has done a tremendous job as general manager of the Pickering Panthers,” said Panthers Head Coach and OJHL Coach of the Year Connor Armour. “He’s navigated many challenges throughout the season and found ways to make sure we have a competitive roster. He is well liked and respected by peers around the league and could not be more deserving of this award. Congrats Sean!”
Meyers joined the Panthers in 2023 as their Director of Scouting and held that position for two seasons before being named General Manager of the team for the current 2025-2026 season. Beyond the OJHL, Meyers held a long standing tenure in USports and as Director of Hockey Operations at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology and as the Director of Scouting. Meyers joined Queen’s University’s Men’s Hockey team as the Director of Scouting in 2024, a position he holds simultaneously now with his role as GM of the Panthers.
The OJHL General Manager of the Year Award is presented annually to the individual who has demonstrated exemplary leadership in hockey operations, roster management, and the overall advancement of their organization throughout the season.
Meyers will be honoured along with the other OJHL award recipients and his own head coach, Connor Armour, at a ceremony during the OJHL Championship Series later this month.
The OJHL is announcing its 2025-26 award winners throughout the first three rounds of the playoffs.
