Wilbert Joseph Savoy
October 2, 1941 — May 27, 2024
Born in Newcastle, NB, he was the son of the late Joseph and Sarah (Vienneau) Savoy, and worked as a truck driver prior to his retirement.
He will be greatly missed by his four children Darlene Barker (Dennis Ciaccia) of Burlington, ON, Tammy Savoie of Miramichi and Sarah’s father Jim Leach, Marty Savoy (Julia) of Burlington, ON, and Rodney Savoy (Maggie) of Hamilton, ON; his partner Phyllis Mossman of Millerton; two sisters Marie Plourde (Late Anthony) of Burlington, ON, and Lorraine Young (Late Michael) of Miramichi; eight grandchildren Sarah, Karissa, Mason, Connor, Curran, Taylor, Parker, and Dillon; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.
Besides his parents, he was predeceased by his sisters Geraldine Theriault (Late Louis), and Evelyn McDermaid (Richard); brothers Alfred Savoy (Late Diane), and Alvin Savoy (Late Florence).
In keeping with his wishes, there will be no visitation. A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2024, from 6 to 9 pm, at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch No. 10 (Newcastle), 20 Fountain Head Lane, Unit 3, Miramichi, NB. Interment will take place in Hamilton, Ontario, at a later date.
The family would like to sincerely thank the Staff at Miramichi Regional Hospital for the excellent care Wilbert received during his time there and for the comfort they provided to the family.
As expressions of sympathy, donations made to the Miramichi Timberwolves Organization would be appreciated by the family.
