The guys on Sportsnet’s National Hockey Show with Matt Marchese and former L.A Kings executive Mike Futa today talked about the downtown Collingwood arena as being the best heritage arena in Ontario! Luke Gazdic, drafted by the Dallas Stars in 2007, also played for the Edmonton Oilers and New Jersey Devils talked about playing in the Collingwood arena as a junior with the Wexford Raiders. “It’s very unassuming the frontage of it, it’s on main street, the front looks like an old movie theatre. You just walk in this small door and then ‘boom’ there is this beautiful arena. It’s awesome. I love that arena” Marchese said. So many past and present NHL players have skated on our big ice in this amazing building.
The arena is currently the Home of the Collingwood Blues.
