Owen Kindree of the Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Milton Menace has confirmed his commitment to join U SPORTS’ Dalhousie University Tigers  in Halifax, NS beginning with the 2025-26 season.

The 20-year-old defenceman played three seasons in Milton. The London, ON product helped the Menace reach the 2025 OJHL Championship Series.

“Playing in the OJHL has been an incredible experience, giving me the opportunity to develop as a player while being seen by top university programs,” Kindree told the OJHL. “My time with the Milton Menace has been nothing short of amazing—playing alongside great teammates and under top-tier coaching has helped me reach the next level.

“I’m beyond excited to commit to Dalhousie University, as I believe it’s the perfect fit for me both academically and athletically. I want to thank my family, coaches, and teammates for their support throughout this journey.”

Kindree joins Menace teammates Luke Johnston and Madden MacDougall in committing to Dalhousie for next season.

Menace Assistant Coach Daniel D’Ercole sings Kindree’s praises.

“Owen has been a cornerstone to our back end for years,” he told the OJHL. “He has grown both as a hockey player and as a leader during his time with the Menace. He is someone who creates a sense of calmness with those around him on the ice. He’s been used to defend in key areas and play an offensive role utilizing his heavy shot throughout his tenure here. Best of luck in your future endeavours, Owen.”

“Owen has developed tremendously over the past number of seasons with the Menace,” said Menace Head Coach/General Manager Dan Del Monte “His first-pass ability coming out of the defensive zone, his reliability, and his defensive IQ were major reasons as to why the Menace went as far as we did this year. Congrats Owen and we’re excited for you and your next chapter.”

Congratulations to Owen and best of luck in the NCAA!
