TORONTO – With November on the horizon, the Rockland Nationals (CCHL) are wrapping up October at No. 1 in the latest Canadian Junior Hockey League Top 20 Rankings – Fuelled by Gatorade, announced Monday.
Despite suffering their initial setback of the season Friday, an overtime defeat at the hands of last season’s CCHL title holders, the Navan Grads, Rockland returned to the win column Sunday to raise their Central Canada Hockey League record to 13-0-1-0 overall.
Staying No. 2 in the 118-team CJHL are the Edmundston Blizzard (MHL).
On a seven-game heater, the Maritime Hockey League front-runners, are playing .941 hockey to date while boasting a 16-1-0-0 mark.
Slotted No. 3 in the weekly rankings, which are compiled by an independent scouting service, sit the Leamington Flyers (OJHL).
The Flyers have soared to seven straight wins in Ontario Junior Hockey League play, raising their overall record to 15-2-0-1. Other OJHL teams in the Top 20 are the Haliburton County Huskies (10) and Trenton Golden Hawks (13). The defending national champion Collingwood Blues received honourable mention.
