March 9, 2026, Mississauga, Ontario – The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) announced today that Matheas Stark of the Markham Royals has been named the East Conference Player-of-the-Month for February after he tallied 21 points, including eight goals and 13 assists, in 10 games – the most points by any East Conference player during the month.
The 19-year-old centre from Toronto had a remarkable February for the Royals, producing at a 2.1-points-per-game pace and providing the offensive spark Markham needed during a critical stretch of the regular season. His eight goals in the month placed him among the league leaders in that category and helped the Royals make their push for a playoff spot in the competitive East Conference.
Stark, who wears No. 50 for the Royals, stands 6-foot and was born on January 14, 2007. The left-hand shot from Toronto is in his first OJHL season with Markham and has quickly established himself as one of the more exciting young forwards in the league.
Lucas Digiantommasso of the Trenton Golden Hawks was selected runner-up as the East Conference Player-of-the-Month in the vote of general managers from across the conference. The Trenton forward posted 19 points (six goals/13 assists) in 11 games for the Golden Hawks during the month.
Stark and the Royals transition to the 2026 OJHL playoffs, which opened this week across the East Conference.
