January 8, 2026, Mississauga, Ontario – The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) announced today that 16-year-old Tyler Hinde of the Mississauga Chargers has been named the West Conference Player-of-the-Month for December after he tallied 16 points during nine games. He had three-point games against Burlington and King and a four-assist night in a 6–2 Chargers’ win over Oakville during the month.
In his first season with the Chargers, the 6-foot-3 forward from Vaughan has 20 goals and 26 assists during 30 regular season games.
A third-round pick of the Oshawa Generals in the Ontario Hockey League’s 2025 U16 draft from the Toronto Red Wings U16 team, Hinde signed an OHL agreement with the Generals in June. He has been called up to Oshawa for two games this season.
Tucker Lyndaker of the Buffalo Jr. Sabres was runner-up to Hinde as the West Conference Player-of-the-Month. The Watertown, NY native had seven goals and seven assists in eight games. His biggest outing was a two-goal, two-assist game – a 7-2 win over Georgetown in Buffalo on Dec. 7
Lyndaker shone during this season’s Zach Hyman OJHL Prospects Series, which concluded Tuesday in Brantford.
Committed to NCAA Division I Vermont, Lyndaker was drafted by the Flint Firebirds in the fourth round of the Ontario Hockey League’s U16 draft in 2024.
