OJHL ALUMNI CAPTURE KELLY CUP ECHL CHAMPIONSHIP WITH FLORIDA EVERBLADES

Six former Ontario Junior Hockey League players are 2024 ECHL champions.

A goal at 3:38 of overtime finished off a furious rally from a 3-1 third-period deficit to lead the Florida Everblades to a 4-3 victory over the Kansas City Mavericks in Game 5 of the Kelly Cup Finals Friday in Estero, FLA.

The Everblades closed out the series four games to one, and became the first team in the ECHL’s 36-year history to win three straight Kelly Cups and four ECHL championships overall.

The OJHL alumni hoisting the trophy as part of the Florida roster included:

  • Zach Uens (Wellington Dukes)
  • Will Reilly (North York Rangers)
  • Dustyn McFaul (Pickering Panthers)
  • Kyle Neuber (St. Michael’s Buzzers)
  • Jordan Sambrook (Aurora Tigers)
  • Nathan Staios (Oakville Blades)

A Hertz Arena record crowd of 7,910, the 18th sellout of the season, attended.
