Up to five people to be inducted during spring ceremony
MISSISSAUGA, ON – Sep 25, 2026 – The Ontario Junior Hockey League Hall of Fame is welcoming nominations for its fourth class of inductees. Nominations will be accepted until Nov. 30, 2026.
Nominations can be put forward using the nomination form available at www.ojhlhalloffame.ca.
The Class of 2027 will be honoured during a ceremony in early May 2027.
Nominees can be inducted from the Original Era and other leagues or the Modern Era. A special category recognizes the Central Junior B Hockey League from 1954 to 1993, where franchises with a lineage to current OJHL franchises are eligible for an OJHL Hall of Fame Award of Distinction.
The OJHL Hall of Fame has three categories: Player, Builder and Award of Distinction. The Award of Distinction can recognize a player, coach, builder, member of the media, trainer, athletic therapist or volunteer. Nominees may come from the Original Era and other leagues, the Modern Era, or the Central Junior B Hockey League where teams have a lineage to current OJHL members.
“The OJHL is very excited to kick off this year’s process of receiving nominations for our Hall of Fame,” said OJHL Commissioner Marty Savoy. “I would encourage anyone who believes there is a person affiliated with the OJHL who has the qualities worthy of being honoured in the OJHL Hall of Fame to go to our website and fill out a nomination form. There are so many amazing people who have contributed to make the OJHL what it is today, including builders, coaches and players. We look forward to seeing who will be honoured in 2027.”
The virtual hall officially opened in 2024 with the induction of former commissioner Bob Hooper, prolific scorer Josh Soares and former NHL players Paul Coffey, Steve Thomas and Adam Oates.
Since then, additional inductees include team and league builder Charlie Macoun, former NHL players Michael Cammalleri, Darren Haydar, Andrew Cogliano.
The OJHL Hall of Fame was established to honour and preserve the history of the athletes and individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the development and advancement of the OJHL and who have performed with distinction in the OJHL and beyond.
The OJHL Hall of Fame highlights the history of Provincial Junior A hockey in Ontario and the pioneer leagues that built the OJHL into the 24-team league it is today.
The OJHL Hall of Fame website features information about its inductees and league history, along with historical records, all-time statistical leaders, award winners and the history of OJHL champions.
