OJHL PLAYERS, ALUMNI SELECTED DURING 2024 NHL DRAFT

Ontario Junior Hockey League players past and present were selected during the 2024 NHL Draft in Las Vegas this weekend.

Trevor Hoskin of the OJHL’s Cobourg Cougars was picked by the Calgary Flames in the fourth round of the draft at the Sphere.

The 106th pick overall, Hoskin is the recipient of the John Grisdale Award as the highest selected player across the Canadian Junior Hockey League. He played three seasons in Cobourg

Jonathan Morello, a two-year member of the league’s Toronto’s St. Michael’s Buzzers, was selected by the Boston Bruins in the 5th round, 154th overall.

Alumni taken in the draft included:

  • Lucas Ellinas (North York Rangers), Ottawa Senators, 4th round, 104th overall from the Kitchener Rangers.
  • Riley Patterson (North York Rangers), Vancouver Canucks, 4th round, 125th overall from the Barrie Colts.
  •  Stevie Leskovar (Lindsay Muskies), Minnesota Wild, 6th round, 174th overall from the Mississauga Steelheads.

Former affiliate players selected included:

  • Beckett Sennecke (St. Michael’s Buzzers), Anaheim Ducks, 1st round, third overall from the Oshawa Generals
  • Zayne Parekh (North York Rangers), Calgary, 1st round, ninth overall from the Saginaw Spirit.
  • Michael Hage (Toronto Jr. Canadiens), Montreal Canadiens. 1st round, 21st overall from the Chicago Steel.
  • Sam O’Reilly (Milton Menace), Edmonton Oilers, 1st round, 32nd overall from the London Knights.
  • Ethan Procyszyn (Collingwood Blues), Anaheim Ducks, 3rd round, 68th overall from the North Bay Battalion.
  • Kevin He (North York Rangers), Winnipeg Jets, 4th round, 109th overall from the Niagara IceDogs.
  • Ty Henry (Markham Royals), Chicago Blackhawks, 6th round, 163rd overall from the Erie Otters.
  • Kaden Pitre (Stouffville Spirit), Tampa Bay Lightning, 6th round, 181st overall from the Flint Firebirds.
  • Dalyn Wakely (Wellington Dukes), Edmonton Oilers, 6th round, 192nd overall from the North Bay Battalion.
  • Finn Harding (Toronto Jr. Canadiens), Pittsburgh Penguins, 7th round, 223rd overall from the Mississauga Steelheads
