Leah Toffelmire won league honours in back-to-back seasons with Trenton Golden Hawks
Award-winning Ontario Junior Hockey League athletic therapist Leah Toffelmire has been named Head Athletic Therapist by the Kingston Frontenacs of the Ontario Hockey League.
“We are excited to welcome Leah to the Frontenacs family,” Kingston General Manager Kory Cooper said. “She brings an extensive level of award-winning experience to our club and because of this, we are confident that she will provide our players with the highest-quality care.”
Toffelmire replaces Kevin Kozai who has accepted a position with the AHL’s Calgary Wranglers.
Toffelmire was named OJHL Athletic Therapist of the Year the past two seasons while working with the Trenton Golden Hawks.
“I feel incredibly fortunate to have spent the past nine seasons in the OJHL. Throughout my time in the league, I’ve had the opportunity to grow, take on new challenges and collaborate with some truly outstanding people across the country.”

“From attending the Centennial Cup to representing Canada East at the World Junior A Challenge, I’ve built lasting connections with players, staff, fellow therapists, and fans, all of which have left a meaningful impact on me. It’s these relationships that I value most and will genuinely miss as I take the next step in my career.”

Toffelmire, 31, was the therapist for the OJHL’s Wellington Dukes for seven seasons before moving down the 401 to the Golden Hawks ahead of the 2023-24 season.
She was on the staff of Team Canada East the past three seasons, winning silver medals the first two years at the World Jr. A Hockey Challenge.
Toffelmire is a Certified Athletic Therapist with the Canadian Athletic Therapists Association as well as a Registered Massage Therapist with the College of Massage Therapists of Ontario.
She studied at Sheridan College and the Ontario College of Health and Technology. Toffelmire completed her certification in Neurofunctional Acupuncture from McMaster University.
