OJHLERS, ALUMNI MAKE FINAL NHL DRAFT RANKINGS

Three Ontario Junior Hockey League players and four alumni are on the final 2025 draft rankings released by National Hockey League Central Scouting Tuesday.

Goalkeeper Noah Tegelaar of the OJHL’s Collingwood Blues was ranked 29th amongst all goaltenders.

Two of three Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) skaters on the final NHLCS rankings list are OJHL players. They are rated as potential seventh-round selections.

Defenceman Jonathan Kapageridis of the Cobourg Cougars is ranked 211th. Kapageridis is the Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Hudl InStat Top Prospect for 2024-25, the league announced Tuesday. The award is presented annually to the OJHL player selected by NHL Central Scouting as the top-ranked draft-eligible prospect for the upcoming NHL Draft.

Kapageridis, who committed to the NCAA Division I University of Vermont Catamounts in November, had 30 points (8 goals/22 assists) in 37 games as he battled injury this season.

Kapageridis represented the OJHL as a member of Team Canada East at the Junior A World Challenge in Alberta and the Battle of Ontario all-star series in Smiths Falls this season. He also played eight games with the North Bay Battalion of the Ontario Hockey League, including three during this year’s playoffs.

Centre Michael Zakharov of the King Rebellion is ranked 222nd.

The 6-foot-4 forward had 38 points (12 goals/26 assists) in 52 games this season. He was picked by the London Knights in the fifth round of the 2025 OHL U16 Priority Selection last weekend.

OJHL alumni – now playing in the Ontario Hockey League – on the list include:

  • Defenceman Simon Wang, who played 38 games with the King Rebellion this season before moving to the Oshawa Generals of the OHL, is the 34th-ranked skater.
  • Former Burlington Cougar Jack Brauti of the Niagara IceDogs, 139th
  • Lindsay Muskie alumnus Joshua Avery of the Brantford Bulldogs,168th
  • Former Toronto Patriot Maxim Dirracolo of the Kitchener Rangers, 219th.

The 2025 NHL Draft will be held June 27 and 28 and will be based in Los Angeles.
