Three of the five players from the Canadian Junior Hockey League (CJHL) rated for the draft play in the OJHL.
Three Ontario Junior Hockey League players and one very recent graduate are on NHL Central Scouting’s midterm draft rankings of the top North American skaters and goalies released today:
- Noah Tegelaar of the Collingwood Blues is No. 14 on the list of the 32 goalies rated. Tegelaar has gone 15-3-1-2 with a 1.63 goals-against average, a 0.941save percentage and seven shutouts in Collingwood this season.
- Michael Newlove of the Burlington Cougars is the 27th-ranked goaltender. He was traded from the Georgetown Raiders to Burlington last week. He has a 2.53 GAA, 0.926 save percentage, three shutouts and a record of 14-10-2-2 this year.
- Defenceman Jonathan Kapageridis of the Cobourg Cougars is rated in the sixth round, 178th overall, in the ranking of skaters. The Vaughan product has seven goals and 17 assists in 23 games with the Cougars.
- Former King Rebellion defenceman Simon Wang is ranked in the first round, 23rd overall. Wang played a season and a half in the OJHL before committing full time to the Oshawa Generals last week.
