TORONTO PATRIOTS CAPTURE BRANT SNOW TROPHY 

 

OJHL regular season champions open postseason at home on Saturday night

 

March 4, 2026, Mississauga, ON – The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) announced today that the Toronto Patriots are the 2025-26 recipients of the Brant Snow Memorial Trophy. The award has been presented annually to the regular season champions of the 24-team OJHL since 2018. The Patriots also won the Brant Snow that season.

The OJHL season ended Sunday.

​​The Patriots (47-8-0-1) finished the regular season with 95 points, three more than the next closest team, the defending OJHL regular season and playoff champion Trenton Golden Hawks (45-9-0-2). The Golden Hawks won the East Conference regular season title this season,

The Patriots, the 3rd– ranked team in the Canadian Junior Hockey League this week, will have home-ice advantage throughout the 2026 playoffs. The OJHL postseason begins on all eight fronts this weekend. The Patriots open their best-of-seven series with the eighth-seeded Mississauga Chargers at home at Westwood Arena in Etobicoke Saturday night March 7th at 7:30pm.

The winner of the OJHL’s 2026 Championship Series advances directly to the Centennial Cup national championships in Summerside, PEI, May 7-17.

“The Toronto Patriots have demonstrated incredible consistency and resilience throughout the schedule to earn the title of regular season champions,” said OJHL Commissioner Marty Savoy. “Winning the Brant Snow Memorial Trophy is a testament to the collective effort of the players, coaching staff and the entire Patriots organization. We are honoured to once again present this award, which stands as a lasting tribute to the memory of Brant Snow and his impact on our league.”

Mr. Snow, the long-time governor and president of North York’s OJHL franchise, passed away eight years ago. Mr. Snow also spent half a century as the driving force behind the Goulding Park Hockey Association. In a motion of condolence, the City of Toronto called him, “an extraordinary Willowdale resident who set the standard for sports volunteers across the city.”

The Ontario Junior Hockey League is the largest Junior ‘A’ league operating under the auspices of the Canadian Junior Hockey League with 24 member clubs. A proud member of the CJHL and Ontario Hockey Association, the OJHL was originally named the Ontario Provincial Junior ‘A’ Hockey League and it was formed out of the Central Junior ‘B’ Hockey League in 1993-94. With a long and storied history of developing players for the next level, including U SPORTS, the NCAA, CHL, minor pro ranks and the NHL, the OJHL had more than 135 commitments in 2024-25, including 54 to NCAA Division 1 and 29 to the Ontario Hockey League. In addition, the OJHL had 39 OHL Affiliate Players who played 152 OHL games.  Thirty OJHL alumni were on NHL rosters at the start of the 2025-26 season.
