“The power forward will look to continue his successful campaign with the Chargers this season”

Anthony  Figliomeni of the Ontario Junior Hockey League’s  Mississauga Chargers has signed an Ontario Hockey League Scholarship and Development Agreement with the Oshawa Generals of the OHL.

“The power forward will look to continue his successful campaign with the Chargers this season,” the Generals said in a release.

He is expected to join the Generals beginning with the 2025-26 season.

Figliomeni was a fourth-round pick (65th overall) by Oshawa from the GTHL’s Toronto Marlboros in this year’s OHL U16 draft.

The right-winger has four goals, 10 assists and 52 minutes in penalties in 28 games with his hometown Chargers this season.

“Anthony is likely one of the youngest players, being a late ‘08 (Sept. 8) birthdate, in the OJHL,” Mississauga General Manager and Head Coach Joe Washkurak told the OJHL. “Anthony has worked very hard since he was assigned to the Chargers by the Generals in August. He has a good work ethic and competes hard and also is good at sticking up for his teammates.

“Anthony has a great family and the entire Chargers organization is happy for them and Anthony.”

Congratulations to Anthony and best of luck in the OJHL and OHL!

The OJHL has had more than 65 Canadian Hockey League and NCAA commitments already this season.
