OJHL HONOURING AWARD WINNERS IN COLLINGWOOD TONIGHT

April 19, 2024, Mississauga, ON – ….  The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) will honour the recipients of the league’s annual awards tonight.

The on-ice ceremony will be held prior to Game 1 of the OJHL’s Nutrafarms Championship Series at Eddie Bush Memorial Arena in Collingwood, ON. 

The best-of-seven series is being played between the Collingwood Blues and Trenton Golden Hawks.

Game time is 7 p.m.

OJHL Commissioner Marty Savoy and Marc Mercier, the chairman of the board of directors of the Ontario Hockey Association, will make the presentations.

A moment’s silence will be held in memory of former Georgetown Raider Craig Spence who died suddenly on Tuesday.

The list of award winners includes a pair of players who will receive two awards each:

  • Trevor Hoskin (Cobourg Cougars), OJHL MVP and scoring champion
  • Noah Pak (Collingwood Blues), Top Goalie and Goaltender of the Year

Three St. Michael’s Buzzers will be honoured:

  • David Green, Top Defenceman
  • Jonathan Morello, Hudl InStat Top Prospect for the NHL Draft
  • David Elmy, Most Improved Player

The other winners are:

  • Matthew Manza (Toronto Patriots), Rookie of the Year
  • Patrick Saini (Haliburton County Huskies), Most Gentlemanly Player
  • Parker Forlin (Niagara Falls Canucks), Scholastic Player of the Year
  • Odaro Ewere (Stouffville Spirit), Humanitarian of the Year
  • Mark Joslin (Brantford 99ers), Coach of the Year
  • Justin Solcz (Leamington Flyers), General Manager of the Year
  • Dave Steele (Collingwood Blues), Executive of the Year
  • Cheryl Issell (Leamington Flyers), Volunteer of the Year
  • Leah Toffelmire (Trenton Golden Hawks), Athletic Therapist of the Year
  • Andrew Groombridge (Georgetown Raiders), Equipment Manager of the Year

Hoskin, Pak, Manza Green, Morello and Elmy all have made NCAA Division I scholarship commitments.
