TORONTO JR. CANADIENS’ VALIULLIN WINS BACK-TO-BACK OJHL GOALTENDER-OF-MONTH HONOURS

February 5, 2025, Mississauga, Ontario – The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) announced today that Amir Valiullin of the Toronto Jr. Canadiens has been named its Goaltender of the Month for January. Valiullin also won the award for December 2024.

Valiullin was 6-1-0-0 during January, posting a 1.58 goals-against average with a 0.950 save percentage. He shut out the St. Michael’s Buzzers 2-0 on Jan. 3. The native of Ufa, Russia is 14-3-0-1 with a 1.75 GAA and 0.948 save percentage since joining the Jr. Canadiens from the North York Rangers on Nov. 24, 2024.

The 19-year-old played minor hockey in the Markham Majors AAA and Toronto Royals AA organizations.

Anthony Alessi of the Buffalo Jr. Sabres was runner-up to Valiullin as the Goaltender-of-the-Month. The 17-year-old rookie went 5-0-1-0 during January, posting a 1.96 GAA and a 0.935 save percentage. The Lockport, NY native is a product of his hometown Buffalo Jr. Sabres AAA youth hockey program.
