BLUES GO UP 3-1 IN CHAMPIONSHIP SERIES

The Collingwood Blues have taken a 3-1 lead over the Trenton Golden Hawks in their best-of-seven Ontario Junior Hockey League Nutrafarms Championship Series.

Blues’ captain Cam Garvey scored at 9:34 of overtime in Collingwood’s 3-2 win in Trenton Wednesday night.

Teammate Jack Silverman’s goal at 13:54 of the third period tied the game at 2-2.

Mark McIntosh gave the Blues a 1-0 first-period lead

Goals by Dillon Stiles in the first and Ryan Holmes in the third had given Trenton a 2-1 lead.

Shots were 31 apiece. Attendance was 955.

Game 5 will be played Friday night in Collingwood. You can watch it on HockeyTV.

The final two games would be played May 1 in Trenton and May 3 in Collingwood, if necessary.

The champions of the OJHL will receive the Buckland Cup and a berth in next month’s Centennial Cup national championship tournament in Manitoba.
