The Zach Hyman OJHL Prospects Series will shine a spotlight on the top 2009- and 2010-born players from across our league footprint. This is where the best young players in our system get measured against their same aged peers in real competition, real environments, with real opportunity in front of them.
Everything about this event aligns with our direction as a league: development first, exposure with purpose, and a clear pathway that connects the OJHL to the OHL and beyond.
We’re proud to unveil the official event logo and confirm two more game will be played on OHL rinks in Brampton and Oshawa with the championship game hosted at TD Civic Centre, home of the OHL’s Brantford Bulldogs—a first-class stage for a first-class moment.
Zach Hyman’s story represents exactly what this series is built on. An OJHL standout and former CJHL Player of the Year, he earned a NCAA Division I scholarship to the University of Michigan, was a Hobey Baker finalist, and went on to establish himself as a full-time NHL player since 2016. His path is proof of what’s possible when development and opportunity meet.
The format is built to push performance. Six teams will compete in a round-robin structure, with players selected to three East teams and three West teams. From there, the top two teams advance to the championship game at TD Civic Centre, hosted by the Brantford Bulldogs.
