COMMUNITY BIG PART OF OJHL ALL-STAR CELEBRATION IN MILTON

Tickets for Sunday afternoon’s game, free skate available online

January 16, 2026, Mississauga, ON – The Ontario Junior Hockey League’s (OJHL)  2026 OJHL All-Star Celebration kicks off Sunday, Jan. 18, with a community skate at Milton Memorial Arena.

The event, which is being hosted by the Milton Menace of the OJHL, includes participation from across the town of Milton:

Milton’s Victoria Bach, who represented Canada at two World Championships, taking home gold in 2021 and 2022, will take part in the ceremonial faceoff. The former Professional Women’s Hockey League (PWHL) star retired last year. She’ll be joined by fellow two-time world champion Tessa Bonhomme. A gold medalist at the 2010 Olympics, Bonhomme is co-host of the PWHL podcast, Jocks in Jills.

Guitarist Shaun Kazemi, a member of the band Station 31, will perform during the afternoon.

The Menace will welcome some special guests to the game. Since 2024, the organization has proudly partnered with Halton Multicultural Council Connections to introduce newcomers to Canada to the game of hockey – many experiencing it live for the very first time.

“This initiative was introduced as part of the Menace’s commitment to broadening access to the sport and welcoming new families into our community,” said Tania Lee, the Menace’s Director of Fan Experience. “Working alongside HMC Connections  has been a privilege, allowing us to open our doors and create an inclusive, memorable hockey experience for families new to Canada.”

Tickets for the community skate are limited.

Lace up and hit the ice alongside some of the league’s best to officially launch All-Star day in Milton. This is a rare chance for fans of all ages to skate, connect and be part of the experience — right on the ice.

Between periods, the celebration will feature the next generation of local hockey talent.  During the first intermission, minor hockey Initiation Program Timbits players will hit the ice for a five-minute game, while the second intermission will feature a Minor Hockey Showdown. The Milton Ice Hawks U7 team coached by Chris Gibson are taking part in the festivities.

The game itself, featuring the best talent – East vs West all-conference teams – from across the 24-team circuit, promises to deliver an exciting showcase of skill and speed when puck drops shortly after 2:30 p.m.

All all-star game tickets are priced at $10. Children 10 and under will be admitted free of charge.
