Leamington Flyers win series (4-1) and advance to the second round of the OJHL post season

The Leamington Flyers defeat the Buffalo Jr. Sabres 5–1 at the Nature Fresh Farms Recreation Centre.

Leamington jumped ahead early in the opening period. Degelas opened the scoring at 5:20, finishing a play from Cleary and Darocy. The Flyers doubled their lead midway through the frame when Cleary struck at 10:15, with Degelas and Darocy again picking up assists.

The Flyers extended their advantage in the second period. Degelas scored his second of the night at 15:10 off a setup from Walker and Thomas, making it 3–0. Just over two minutes later, Bosev added another at 17:14 with helpers from Grundner and McGuire.

Buffalo got on the board early in the third when Flora scored at 4:34, assisted by Johnston and Brown, cutting the deficit to 4–1. However, Leamington quickly restored its four-goal cushion as Walker found the back of the net at 13:03 to round out the scoring.

The Flyers dominated the shot totals throughout the contest, outshooting Buffalo 49–22. Altiman made 21 saves to earn the win in goal for Leamington, while Scott was busy for Buffalo, stopping 44 shots.

Neither team converted on the power play, with Buffalo going 0-for-4 and Leamington 0-for-5.
