Brody Seitz of the Ontario Junior Hockey League’s Buffalo Jr. Sabres has confirmed his commitment to join the NCAA Division III SUNY Cortland Red Dragons in Cortland, NY beginning with the 2025-26 season.

His brother, Colby Seitz, is a junior on the hockey team at the Syracuse-area school.

“Very excited to see Brody continue his academic and hockey career at SUNY Cortland,” Buffalo General Manager and Head Coach Sean Wallace told the OJHL. “Brody has put in a ton of work over the years and has been a leader for our group the past two seasons. He’s been wearing the blue and gold since Day 1 and exemplifies what it means to be a Jr. Sabre.”

Seitz, 21, is playing his second season with the Jr. Sabres’ team in the OJHL. He had 37 points (15 goals/22 assists) in 49 regular season games this season.

“I’m grateful and honored to be joining SUNY Cortland,” he said. “I look forward to improving and developing my game under coaches Joe Cardarelli and Conor Tierney.

“I’ve been playing at the Jr. Sabres program for almost all my life and from the top down everyone has helped me along the way and I’m really appreciative of the opportunities that were given. I’d like to thank my teammates, coaches and my family for supporting me through the way.”

Brother Colby Seitz aside, other junior Sabres alumni on this year’s Cortland team include Nate Berke, Andrew Clouden and Sam Christiano.

Other former OJHLers on the Cortland roster include Shane Selest (Wellington), Josh Rumolo (Burlington, Haliburton, North York, Wellington) and Justin Legault (Toronto Patriots, Collingwood, Burlington).

The Jr. Sabres lead the Toronto Patriots two games to one in their opening-round OJHL playoff series. Game 4 will be played Thursday at Westwood Arena in Etobicoke.

Congratulations to Brody and best of luck in the NCAA!
