STILL NO. 1 IN OJHL POWER RANKINGS: LEAMINGTON RIDING 10-GAME WINNING STREAK 

Fourth-ranked Toronto Jr. Canadiens on 12-game heater of their own 

MISSISSAUGA, ON  – The Leamington Flyers are No. 1 in the Ontario Junior Hockey League’s (OJHL) Power Rankings for the third straight week, the OJHL announced today.

The Flyers (35-5-2-1) have the highest point total – 73 – in the 24-team league. The squad from southwestern Ontario is on a 10-game winning streak.

The Trenton Golden Hawks (35-5-2-0) remain second-ranked in this week’s Power Rankings. The East Conference leaders have the best winning percentage in the league – 0.857. The Golden Hawks are on a six-game winning streak.

Trenton defeated Leamington 5-2 on Oct. 4 in their only regular season meeting this season.

The Toronto Jr. Canadiens (32-7-0-3), who are on a 12-game winning streak of their own, have moved into third ahead of the No. 4 Collingwood Blues (31–9-2-1).

The Stouffville Spirit (23-14-0-4) made the largest jump within the rankings, going from No. 9 to 7.

The previously unranked Toronto Patriots (9) and St. Michael’s Buzzers (10) were voted into this week’s rankings.

Head coaches from across the 24-team OJHL take part in a weekly poll to determine the top 10 teams listed in the Power Rankings.

Coaches are asked to vote for their top 10 each week, based on “teams’ overall strength, game outcomes (scores and performance) and other key indicators of success including recent play against top teams and the record of the week.” The results are tabulated by the OJHL’s Hockey Operations department.
