The hardest trophy to win in Canadian hockey? For the last 51 years, Junior A teams have faced off for the Centennial Cup, but only after claiming league titles first. Nine CJHL champions and a host team make up the field, and the 31 different championship teams have come from seven provinces.
The Road to the Centennial Cup includes 122 teams in nine leagues – from Canmore to Flin Flon to Campbellton. This year, the host Oakville Blades will welcome the champions of the Alberta Junior Hockey League (AJHL), Saskatchewan Junior Hockey League (SJHL), Manitoba Junior Hockey League (MJHL), Superior International Junior Hockey League (SIJHL), Northern Ontario Junior Hockey League (NOJHL), Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL), Central Canada Hockey League (CCHL), Ligue de hockey junior AAA du Québec (LHJAAAQ) and Maritime Hockey League (MHL).
