December 5, 2025, Mississauga, Ontario – The Ontario Junior Hockey League (OJHL) announced today that Nathan Phillips of the Newmarket Hurricanes (Photo by Dann Tardif / OJHL Images) has been named the East Conference Player of the Month for November after he tallied 22 points during 10 games. His eight goals included a game-winner, one of his four points during a 6-3 win in Mississauga on Nov. 12. Phillips had another four-point night at Trenton on Nov. 7.
In his third season with the franchise known as the Toronto Jr. Canadiens before this season, the 20-year-old from Burlington has 18 goals and 26 assists this year.
Phillips has been selected to play in the OJHL’s 20 Year Old Game at Ontario Tech University in Oshawa Monday. The new event will feature two teams of elite 20-year-old players who will compete in front of Canadian university coaches.
Liam Oravsky of the Haliburton County Huskies was runner-up to Phillips as the East Conference Player of the Month. The Barrie native scored eight goals and added 10 assists in 11 games last month with the Huskies and Cobourg Cougars. He was traded to the Huskies on Nov. 7. On the season, Oravsky has 14 goals and 23 assists between the two East Conference teams.

The Ontario Junior Hockey League is the largest Junior ‘A’ league operating under the auspices of the Canadian Junior Hockey League with 24 member clubs. A proud member of the CJHL and Ontario Hockey Association, the OJHL was originally named the Ontario Provincial Junior ‘A’ Hockey League and it was formed out of the Central Junior ‘B’ Hockey League in 1993-94.
